4 players to watch on Saturday

We like lists here at the Joe Fields Era ... in case you couldn't tell already. Nobody reads long stories any more, so I'll just keep it short and simple for you.

1. Delone Carter
Did you know he's averaging 82.3 yards per game? At that pace, he'll fall just short of 1,000 yards, which sounds pretty good. But has he done anything to impress you yet? Probably not. This is mostly on the O-line for not opening up holes, but let's hope that changes today and we see a breakout game from DC3, which hopefully carries on into the Big East slate.

2. Any WR not named Lemon or Chew
Who's going to step up in Aaron Weaver's absense? The answer last week: no one. That's troubling. Thought we'd see more of Marcus Sales last week, but he barely touched the field against the Black Bears. No WR other than Lemon or Chew caught a pass on Saturday, and that has to change at some point.

3. #Shamarko
The heralded sophomore safety had a slow start to the season, but he came on strong with five tackles against Maine. It would be nice if he could start laying the lumber on the Raiders Saturday and start instilling fear in Big East wide receivers.

4. Ryan Nassib
He probably won't play the whole game, but even in short time, he should start moving up the leaderboard in TDs thrown, considering he already has eight. Believe it or not, if Nassib throws four TDs today, he'll already be tied for the 10th most TDs thrown in a season in SU history (12). Even more shocking than that ... he would tie Perry Patterson for that spot (and Don McPherson). Nassib will likely slow down in the Big East schedule, but in case you're wondering, the school record is 22, shared by McPherson and Donovan McNabb.
